Dr Austin Norby is the Director of Internal Research and Development at Bogart Associates, a defense contractor in the DMV area. Dr Norby studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Minnesota and received a Bachelor's degree in each. Following that, Dr Norby got his Masters of Engineering related to Cyber Warfare from the Naval Postgraduate School. Most recently, he received his doctorate in Cyber Operations from Dakota State University where he wrote his dissertation on the performance of Anti-Debugging techniques.
Day-to-day, Dr Norby manages cyber innovation projects within Bogart Associates, develops code in C/C++, and does reverse engineering and malware analysis to stay technical.

In this talk, we will look at a very modern case that brought questions about "Exceeding Authorized Access" to the supreme Court.
We'll quickly look at the details of the case, understand how the CFAA plays a role in the case, take a look at both sides of the case, and ultimately what the impacts of the supreme Court decision is on modern tech landscape.
